  67.         <text><span class="style3">                  FoneBookMaker (1.0)</span><span class="style1">FoneBookMaker is designed to convert your address and phone number files from TouchBase (or any other program that can export text files) to either a wallet-size format or to 8.5x11" size for regular notebook pages. To read the exported files properly, this stack requires HyperCard 2.1 or greater to operate.The text file you want to convert must have tab delimited fields and return delimited records. The fields of each record must be arranged in the following order: Last Name, First Name, Phone1, Phone2, Address, City, State, Zip. (The actual names of the fields aren't important. There just must be 7 fields containing the information indicated, a tab between each field, and a return at the end of each record.) There is no practical limit to the size of the exported file.If you use TouchBase, sort your address file by last name, choose Export To Text File, arrange the export fields as above, and select TAB for the field delimiter and RETURN for the record delimter. It's handy to save the exported file to the same folder as this stack, but not necessary.To make a phonebook, choose the size font you want, then pick Wallet or Page. 7pt Size prints 20 names on each wallet-size page or 98 names on a notebook page. 9pt size prints 12 names on each wallet-size page or 62 names on a notebook page. The text you'll see in the stack window after FoneBookMaker has formatted your file can be edited if you wish, though it will be hard to read. If you are using a compact Mac, you won't be able to see the entire stack window without using the scroll palette (which shows up automatically on these Macs.)To print your phonebook, click the "Print" button.To assemble a WalletBook. (A drawing and these instructions are included in the Read Me file that came with this stack.) There are 4 wallet pages printed on each page which have to be cut apart.It's easiest to use a steel rule and a knife and trim all the pages at the same time, but you can use a scissors and trim them one page at a time, too.First trim the right margin off using the "|" mark at the end of each dotted line as a guide. The left margin is correct.Next, cut along each dotted line to separate the 4 wallet pages. When all the pages are cut, fold each wallet page in half. The fold line is meant to be the front edge the address blocks (between the last dot of the phone block and the first letter of the address block). Fold the page in half </span><span class="style2">backwards</span><span class="style1"> so that the address side of the page is folded under the phone side. [The wallet book is meant to show the index (the letters in parentheses) on the right upper corner of each folded page. If you want to see an address, you simply unfold a page to get it.] Cut a piece of card stock (an old file folder works fine) the same width and twice the length of a folded wallet page. Fold this cover in half, put the pages inside--left margins in the fold--and staple the cover and pages together through the fold with two staples. You now have a business-card-size phonebook, each page of which can be unfolded to provide the addresses as well.FreeWareby Robert Mason 2/12/93. ¬© 1993 by HyperCode SoftwareI can be contacted at:GEnie: R.Mason4; AOL: Inginio; CompuServe: 72531,1744; Internet: Mason@Astro.ufl.edu</span></text>
